2. The Knife Feels Like Justice is the debut album by Brian Setzer, released in on the EMI America record label. Setzer was moving on from the rockabilly music of his prior band, Stray Cats, to a more adult-oriented roots rock sound, in the style of one of his major influences, John Cougar Mellencamp. Setzer utilized Mellencamp's producer, Don Gehman, and his drummer, Kenny Aronoff, for the Genre: Rock.

5. Rockabilly fans who followed Setzer bought the album and were disappointed because it didn't sound like they expected it to. Bad reviews followed. Roots rock fans waited out Springsteen's Dancing-in-The-Dark period, and never gave a thought to purchasing Knife Feels Like Justice because they had never heard the music on the radio/5(5).
